HISTORY

Harmonia Palace, a Neo-Renaissance gem in Budapest’s historic Palace Quarter, was built in 1870 for Dr. János Bókay, the founder of modern Hungarian pediatric medicine. The building was designed by the renowned architect Miklós Ybl, best known for creating the iconic Budapest Opera House. Over the past 150 years, the palace has housed several notable figures, including the celebrated painter Károly Lotz and Nobel Prize-nominated writer Ferenc Herczeg.
